Thursday evening February 26, 2004 Kilung Jigme Rinpoche was in Copenhagen to give a lecture in the Dzogchen teaching of View, Meditation and Action. Through this system we come to under- stand the nature of Dzopa-Chenpo. The meeting was held at the new Buddhist center called "Phende- ling," and was arranged by Preben Petersen and Lene Gregersen. About 60 people were attending the meeting, which lasted 2½ hours. On the photo you can see the big Buddhastatue placed in the center, established on the initiative of Lakha Lama, who lives permanently in Denmark. The photos on this page were taken with a Canon Power Shot G5 using flashlight. Usually I don't like to use flash at meetings of this kind, because it will disturb too much, but the lighting was very sparse! |

It is very important as Dharma practitioners to recognize our own inner experience of Dharma, which is not any other than intuitive comprehension of one's real nature of mind. This understanding of the nature of Dharma cannot be accomplished thorugh traditional forms of learning or study. Without this inner experience, it is difficult to understand the true meaning of Dharma. Meditation The practices of meditation are the means by which we cultivate the essential development of inner stability and calm awareness, creating the space to realize the nature of mind. Action Action means the outer accomplishment of practice. It is the way of a Bodhisattva. But even before we reach Enlightenment, we can use certain practices which spontaneously develop and generate our own compassionate and positive action. One such is the Six Paramitas which, when practiced, maintains the continuity of compassio- nate action for all beings, as well as for oneself. About Kilung Jigme Rinpoche. His first visit to the West was in 1998, when he visited Seattle, USA, where he teached the Vajrayana Buddhism. Kilung Jigme Rinpoche continues to promote the Longchen Nyingtik lineage in Tibet as well as outside Tibet. He is in charge of the 260 year old Kilung Monastery in Kham, where you will find the original monastery, the newly reconstructed monastery dormitory and a monastery for nuns. |
