Bakken July 2004
![]() |
| Dyrehavsbakken called "Bakken" has a history, that goes more than 400 years back, and it's the World's oldest amusement park. Since 1583 it has been the favoured place of its kind for the citizens of Copenhagen. In the year 1800 Pjerrot came to Bakken. The first artist was Casorti from Italy. In 1820 you could sail with the first steamship from Copenhagen to the nearby beach, and in 1864 you could take the train. The wooden roller coaster was build in 1932 by the irish engineer Walter Quinlan, and it became a great success! Bakken has many traditions, and everybody comes there to have a good time - about 2,7 millions a year. You can learn more HERE (Site in Danish) HERE you can see the Site called "Bakken's Hvile" |

On the photo to the left you can see a nearby spot in the forest called Dyrehaven (Deergarden). As you will notice, there is a house where food for the deers are stored for the wintertime. The photo is taken standing on an old gravehill from the stoneage. This has been my favourite place to go for many years. |
